Can You Reschedule an NBI Appointment?

What to Do If You Missed NBI Appointment Schedule

Getting an NBI Clearance is an essential requirement for employment, travel, business registration, and government transactions in the Philippines. After booking an appointment, many applicants later realize they need to change their schedule. This leads to a common question:

Can I reschedule my NBI appointment?

This article explains the official rules, what options you actually have, and what to do if you miss your scheduled visit.

No, the NBI online system does not allow appointment rescheduling once payment has been completed.
After confirming and paying for your slot, the date, time, and branch become fixed. There is no button or feature on the portal to modify your appointment.

However, there is still a solution if you cannot attend your original date, which is explained below.

What If You Miss Your NBI Appointment?

Although you cannot officially reschedule, the NBI provides a grace period.

15-Day Grace Period Rule

If you miss your scheduled appointment, you can still visit the same NBI branch within 15 days from your original appointment date and complete your clearance processing.

During this grace period:

  • You do not need to book another appointment
  • You do not need to pay again
  • You simply present your:
    • Reference number
    • Proof of payment
    • Two valid government IDs

As long as you are within the grace period, most branches will process your clearance normally.

What Happens If You Go After the Grace Period?

If more than 15 days have passed since your appointment date:

  • Your application expires
  • Your payment is forfeited
  • You must register again, book a new appointment, and pay a new fee

Can I Reschedule Before Paying?

Yes. If you have selected a date but have not yet paid, you can simply:

  • Let the appointment expire, or
  • Log out and book another schedule

Once payment is completed, changes are no longer allowed.

Can I Change My Appointment Branch?

No. Once paid, you cannot switch to another NBI branch. You must either:

  • Use the same branch within the grace period, or
  • Reapply and book a new appointment if the grace period has expired

Can I Call NBI to Request a Reschedule?

No. NBI customer service and branch offices do not have the authority to change confirmed appointments in the system. Even for emergencies, applicants are advised to use the grace period instead.

What If I Arrive Late on My Appointment Date?

If you arrive late but still on the same day, many branches will still accommodate you depending on workload. However, this is not guaranteed. If turned away, you may return within the 15-day grace period.

Best Tips to Avoid Appointment Issues

  1. Choose your appointment date carefully before paying
  2. Screenshot or save your reference number and receipt
  3. If you miss your date, go to the branch as soon as possible within 15 days
  4. Do not wait until the grace period expires
